Examination and Certification Information
The package includes the first examination attempt and one free retake.
For this Self-Study package, the complete examination cycle, including the first attempt and free retake, must be completed within 12 months of the package purchase date.
The package also includes the certification application fee and the first year of the PECB Annual Maintenance Fee.
The PECB Chief Information Security Officer examination evaluates the candidate’s knowledge across the following competency domains:

The current examination contains 80 multiple-choice questions, including stand-alone and scenario-based questions.
It is an open-book examination. Candidates may use the official training materials, personal notes taken during the course, and a hard-copy dictionary, subject to the current PECB examination rules.
The current passing score is 70%.
Examination details, formats, languages, and permitted reference materials may be updated by PECB. Candidates should review the current examination information available through the PECB platform before scheduling the exam.
Passing the examination does not automatically grant the full PECB Chief Information Security Officer credential.
After passing the examination, you must submit a certification application through your myPECB account. The credential awarded by PECB will depend on your professional and information security project experience.

- At least five years of professional experience
- At least two years of work experience in information security
