Examination and Certification Information
The package includes the first examination attempt and one free retake.
For this eLearning package, the examination cycle, including the first attempt and free retake, must be completed within 12 months of the package purchase date.
The examination evaluates the candidate’s knowledge across areas such as:
- Fundamental principles of an Information Security Management System
- ISO/IEC 27001 requirements
- Planning an ISMS implementation
- Implementing and operating an ISMS
- Monitoring, measuring, and evaluating ISMS performance
- Continual improvement of an ISMS
- Preparing an organization for a certification audit
Passing the examination does not automatically grant the highest Lead Implementer credential.
After passing the examination, you must submit a certification application through your myPECB account. The certification level awarded by PECB will depend on your professional experience and information security management system project experience.
Depending on the experience requirements you meet, you may apply for one of the following credentials:
- PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Provisional Implementer
- PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Implementer
- PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer
- PECB Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Implementer
Candidates who do not yet meet the experience requirements for the Lead Implementer credential may apply for the Provisional Implementer credential and request an upgrade after gaining the required experience.
Certification applicants must also agree to follow the PECB Code of Ethics and provide the information required to support their selected certification level.

This package is fully self-paced and does not include scheduled live classes.
You can access the official course materials and prerecorded training videos through your myPECB account and study according to your own schedule and availability.
The five-day course agenda represents the structure and estimated content of the training. It does not require attendance on specific dates.
